The Nation’s Favourite Albums

New ten part series kicks off with the top 100 countdown on Saturday November 18 at 6pm on VH1…

2006 marks the 50th anniversary of the UK’s album chart listings and this autumn, in conjunction with The Official UK Charts Company, VH1 embarks on a 10 part series celebrating Britain’s top selling records of the past half-century.

Never before revealed, on November 18 VH1 will launch the series with the UK’s 100 biggest selling albums hosted by Blur’s Alex James. Drawing from the detailed research and data of the Official UK Charts Company this definitive count down side steps the heated exchange & debate that the greatest music will always inspire to deliver a chart countdown free from journalistic fashions & critical favouritism.

For the first time the music speaks loud and clear for itself.

These records are the ones that the great British public have bought in their millions, turning them into the biggest selling UK records of the last 50 years and as such there is no question that these are The Nation’s Favourite Albums.

The Nation’s Favourite Album top 100 countdown with Alex James premieres on Saturday November 18 at 6pm on VH1, repeating on Sunday 19th at 1pm. The series kicks off at 9.40pm on Monday November 20.
