Eagles Circle U.K. No. 1 Spot

The Eagles’ comeback studio set “Long Road Out Of Eden” (Polydor) looks likely to land at No. 1 when the Official U.K. Albums Chart is published this Sunday.

According to the Official U.K. Charts Company’s midweek sales analysis, the album is well-placed to become the veteran band’s first British chart-topper.

“The Californian rockers have not previously had a U.K. No. 1 album or U.K. No. 1 single. Most notably, their seminal album, ‘Hotel California,’ only peaked at No. 2 in May 1977”, said OCC marketing manager, Darren Haynes.

The Eagles made their first albums chart impression in April 1974 with “On The Border,” which peaked at No. 28.

To celebrate the new release, the band is expected to perform an exclusive gig tomorrow night at London’s Indigo venue.
