MAC Global has teamed up with Live Nation Middle East and Brag to bring Canadian-Irish comedian, Katherine Ryan, to Dubai Opera on Friday 12 April 2024, to open this year’s Dubai Comedy Festival.
Known for her razor-sharp wit and biting comedy style reminiscent of the legendary Joan Rivers, self-proclaimed UK “national treasure”, Katherine Ryan, is all set to deliver an unforgettable live stand-up gig in Dubai, which also marks her UAE debut.
With a string of comedy accolades and appearances on TV hit shows such as ‘Live At The Apollo’ and ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’, Katherine Ryan is a household name in the UK and beyond.
While the collaboration with Live Nation Middle East and Brag is a new corporate initiative, this is not our first foray in to the world of comedy. Previously, MAC Global has presented Canadian comic, Russell Peters, at Bahrain’s Al Dana Amphitheatre and Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena (March 2022) and last year in 2023, we teamed up with The Laughter Factory to present two gigs with another UK national treasure, Jason Manford, at the Al Bustan Palace in Oman and Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace.
Our involvement with this year’s Dubai Comedy Festival is another example of our commitment to bringing world-class entertainment to the region.
Katherine Ryan encourages everyone to support the festival, ensuring its future growth. In her own indomitable style she said, “Come to the show because it will be a great night out. Supporting a comedy festival in its infancy guarantees that the festival will come back with bigger names. So even if you don’t want to see me but who you do want to see is Mindy Kaling or Amy Schumar, unfortunately, you have to come and see me to build the comedy festival. It’s a fun night out, and it’s going to be a blast!”
