CIN prepares for chart’s birthday

Chart Information Network (CIN) is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Official UK Singles Chart with a tranche of promotional activity during the last quarter of next year.

The push will extend beyond the music industry, with two book premiums – a coffee table book and the Guinness Book of Hit Singles publication – already lined up, according to Darren Haynes, CIN brand manager. “The

brand extensions are limitless; from TV and radio shows to maybe even a one-off concert,” he said.

Work is currently being planned in house, as CIN continues its search for an SP agency (P&I news, March 2001).
